Hi, I'm Reeve
My name is Reeve Johnson, and here's a bit about me. I am a student-athlete near the great city of Portland, Oregon. My passions include basketball, softball, being a reliable teammate and mentor, as well as a valuable member of my community, team, and family. I live my life through my family's 3 Rules of Sports Participation, hard work at school, and connecting with my family and friends through various nerd interests (as my dad would call it).
Each day, I make the best use of my time in the training facility, on the court or out on the field, and in school. My family has three rules in sports (which also translates to anything I do) that require no talent, just integrity and perservearance:
Give your best effort. When I take on a task in anything I do, including sports, I will always give my best effort.
Hustle. Learning to push myself has yielded great things. Whether I'm trying to make it to 1st base, or running down a great hit, or going for a loose basketball, I'm always hustling.
Pay attention. If a coach is talking, I'm locked in. If I'm training, I'm aware of my surroundings. If I'm competing, I've got my eyes up and my ears open.
School and my studies are vital parts of who I am. Just like in sports, I work hard at all my educational endeavors. I get my homework completed on-time. I am respectful in class and participate often. I am involved in my school's yearbook creation, which allows me to volunteer my extra time to document school events. All my hard work pays off with a 4.0 GPA and accolades from my teachers (various Student-of-the-months).
In my off time, I enjoy connecting with my friends, watching movies (big movie buff here), going on a nature walks, and reading a ton of good books. One of my favorite things to do is to visit a public library and check out a new book to read!
I value a hard work ethic, great sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity. These qualities have served me well, and I hope to bring these qualities to any team I play with.
